The Manawatu Herald. Thursday, July 8,1909. TO-NIGHT’S MEETING.
We hope parents and others interested in the improvement of the local State School grounds will strain a point to be present at the meeting to be held in the schoolhouse this evening at 8 o’clock. The object of the meeting is to make preliminary arrangements for the holding of a bazaar and entertainment in October next, for the purpose of raising the necessary funds, which it is hoped will be supplemented by a grant from the Board. The committee’s proposal is to level a portion of the grounds, in order to get rid of surface water, sub-divide the girls’ playground from the boys, fence off a front section for garden plots, and complete the front fence. It will be seen, therefore, that the committee has undertaken a big task and unless they receive the hearty co-opera-tion of parents in working up the bazaar, they cannot hope to meet with the desired success. We would urge all willing to assist to attend in order that comifiittees may be set up and the affair put jn hand at once.
