The following team will represent Albious in their match against Awahou on Saturday:—Full-back, Witton ; thiee - quarters, J. Dunn, Jones, W. Cook; fiveeights, Nepia, Tipeue; half, G. Dunn forwards, Cumraerfield (wing), Broad, Desmond, Hunt, Whibley, Gummie, Cook, Witton. Emer. —Backs, Frankland, Maori; forwards, Hanna, Puki, Martin.
The Wellington Rugby Union has agreed to play the match with Auckland on August 28.
Taranaki has issued a challenge to Auckland for the Ranfurly Shield.
George Gillett, the All Black and Auckland representative player, has, acting on medical advice, definitely retired from the game.
Taranaki Rugby Union has made application to have the interisland match played at New Plymouth this year, Canterbury has also put in a claim.
On Saturday Albion and Awahou meet on the racecourse. These teams have met on two previous occasions this year and the Awahou team have won both matches by small margins; It should be a very close and interesting game on Saturday as each Club will be represented by its full strength. The Awahou team includes two players from the Te Aute College and Albion wilLalso be assisted by oae Te 'Aute boy. The game will be controlled by Dr. Adams and will commence at three o’clock.
The following team will represent Awahou: Bird, Marsh, Tuohey, Carter Rore Pitiherh, Osbolstone, Robinson, Reihana, Jeffries, Andresen, Wanklyn, Hooker, Saveli, Reid and Haeana. Emer: —Beckman.
