FIRE AT WANGANUI.

[BY TELEGRAPH—SPECIAL TO HERALD.

Wanganui, This Day. At five o’clock this morning an alarm of fire was given and the technical school in Avenue was found to be on fire. Fortunately the fire was confined to the plumbing rooms, which were gutted. The fire seems to have originated in one of the student rockers* The class was working in the room till nine o’clock last evening. If necessary to rebuild would probably cost about £2OO.
