CYCLING.
Cycle road racing will be in full swing for the next few months to come. The Nonpareil Cycle Coy., Palmerston North, having decided to hold a series of three large road races on or about the following dates: Ist, Wednesday, July 14th; 2nd, Wednesday, August nth; 3rd, being the Nonpareil New Zealand championship to be holden on Wednesday, September Bth. The prizes are the largest given for many a day, totalling to the value of 50 guineas, thus giving chance never before offered to the young amateur cyclists, who should avail themselves of the opportunity to bring glory and prominence to themselves. Training facilities will be offered to all intending competitors to train on the home trainer erected on the firm’s premises in Palmerston. This in itself should be the means of bringing all riders up to “nick” before the race. The course on which the above races will be held will be in the vicinity of Palmerston North, although not definitely decided on yet, but full particulars will be inserted in a few days’ time.
