FLOURMILLERS’ ASSOCIATION.
ARE SOME FIRMS CUTTING RATES?
Oamaru, June 19. The suggestions made in a Dunedin Press Association telegram that the Oamaru mills outside the Milling Association are selling at prices ss. below those set by J;he association would seem to lack foundation. In fact, two local mills are now out—Clark Bros., and Ireland and Lauder because they both considered their outputs greater than they were given credit for by the association; but there has been no cutting, for the reason principally that Oamaru flour can command the best price. It is hot considered likely here by some millers that a new agreement, will be adopted for a considerable time to come, as the firms now out will remain out until next season at least, owing to contracts that have been entered into.
