COMPULSORY MILIITARY TRAINING.

ENTHUSIASM IN DANNEVIRKE. Dannevirke, Last Night. Mr McNab addressed a crowded audience here to-night on the Universal Military training. He spoke on lines similar to those of his previous meetings. The audience was very enthusiastic, and a motion was carried unanimously ‘‘that notwithstanding the enthusiasm of the volunteers, the present system does not provide adequate means of defence. This meeting therefore asks the Government to introduce a system of universal military training for our young men.” An amendment adding the word “ naval ” as well as “ military ” training was carried. A patriotic song was sung with great gusto by the audience.
