ARTESIAN WATER.

FLOW FROM THE EXPERIMENTAL BORE. The experimental artesian bore which is being put down by the Borough Council in the triangle in Main Street, opposite the Court House, is now down about 460 ft. A seam of clay has been pierced, and this morning the water rose to about 18 inches above the surface, and trickled over the mouth of the pipe. Mr Chrystall informed our representative that some of his most successful flows have stalled in a similar manner. He stated that it will be necessary to pump for perhaps two days in order to clear the bottom, before he is able to ascertain the extent of the flow. We hope the experiment will prove successful.
