FOOTBALL.
A largely attended meeting ot the Albion Football Club was held on Tuesday evening, for the purpose of electing captains for the senior and junior teams. Mr G. Robinson was elected captain of the seniors, and Mr J. Walker captain of the juniors, with A. Withers as vice-captain. Messrs Robinson, Q. Cook and J. Walker were appointed a junior selection committee.
The fixtures for Saturday to be played on the racecourse are between the two local teams in both the senior and junior competition. The Executive of the Sub-Union have decided to hand the gate money from these matches to the Walden Benefit Fund. The price of admission has been fixed at is, and it is hoped there will be a large attendance. Both games commence at 3 p.m., and Dr. Adams will referee in the senior match and Mr J. Desmond in the junior. The following are the teams for Saturday : Albion senior—Napier, Franklaud, W. Cook, Royal, G. Dunn, G. Robinson, A. Cook, J. Broad, F. Robinson, Hannah, P. Larkins, Charles, F. D. Whibley, Gummie and Cummerfield ; emergencies : Walker, Withers and Martin.
The junior team will be picked from the following J. and E. Walker, Hooker, Withers (2), S. Reeve, Wehipehana, J. Walden, Raiha, Bowe, Rauhihi, Rimmer, Martin, Schultz. Hennessy, Webb, Currie, Tollison and Osborne. The Albion senior team includes some “ new blood ” in . G. Dunn (late Old Boys, Napier), Mack Royal (Horowhenua rep. of last year), and Napier (late of Levin Wanderers). The following will represent the Awahou Seniors in their match against Albion Seniors on Saturday Marsh, Osboldstone, Bird, Reid, Carter, Toohey, Davis, J. Joe, R. Jeffries, Reihana, Andresen, J. Coley, C. Webb, West, Saveli. The Albion Juniors will be picked from the following:—Lee, Spelman, Mansell, Brown, Coley, Cunuinghame, Wanklyu, Walden, Weller, Neville, Gibson, Howe, Mclntyre, Rowe, Withers, Davey, Neehon, Sam, Cargill, Heaton,
