FOXTON RUGBY SUB-UNION.
A meeting of the Foxton SubUnion was held in Mr Hamer’s rooms on Thursday evening. The following delegates were present; Messrs Wanklyn and Reid (Awahou), Cook, Robinson and F. D. Whibley (Albion), Burgess and Anderson (Rongotea). The Secretary stated that he had written the Manawatu Union in reference to preventing players residing within the Sub-Union’s boundaries from playing in the Manawatu Union’s competitions, and although he had not yet received any reply, he had noticed by the newspaper reports that the matter had been dealt with by the Manawatu Union at its last meeting, and they had decided to take no action in the matter. The delegates present discussed the subject at some length, and it was eventually decided to again approach the Manawatu Union re same. The following teams were nominated to take part in the Foxton competition : Senior —Albion, Awahou and Rongotea ; Junior — Albion and Awahou. It was decided to extend the time lor receiving nominations until May 15, and in the meantime to commence the first round with the teams already entered. The following fixtures were then drawn up : —■ SENIOR. May 15 —Awahou v. Rongotea at Rongotea. Referee, Mr C. H. Bowater. May 22. —Awahou v. Albion at Foxton. Referee, Dr. Adams. May 29. —Albion v. Rongotea at Rongotea. Referee, Mr C. H. Bowater. JUNIOR. May 15, —Albion v. Awahou at Foxton. Referee, Mr Desmond. The affiliation fee was fixed at £2 2s for senior teams, and /i is for junior teams. It was decided to play four rounds in the senior competition. The Rongotea Club nominated Messrs H. Jarvis and A. Burgess, as their Vice-Presidents on the Sub-Union. Other minor matters were discussed, and the meeting terminated.
