GIRL SHOOTS HER FATHER
JUSTIFIED BY THE JURY. Svdnkv, April 8. At the inquest on the body of Salora, a selector at Marengo, who was shot by his 15-year-old daughter while quarrelling with his wife, the girl gave evidence that her father threatened to kill her mother because the latter refused to take some medicine he wished to give her. He followed her out of the kitchen, and witness, shortly after hearing her mother scream for help, got a revolver, and, finding her father holding her mother by the throat, shot him. The jury returned a verdict of justifiable homicide. Salom (or Salmon) resided for some years in New Zealand, and only returned to Sydney a few months ago.
