WANGANUI EDUCATION BOARD.

The regular meeting of the Wanganui Education Board was held last night. Present: Messrs F. Piraui (chairman), Aldridge, Bennett, Cargill, Dixon, Fraser, Guthrie, and Purnell. Resignations.—L. Ainsworth, Kaukatea ; K. T. Casey, Matapau ; M- vS. Cobb, Terrace Etui ; P. Gilligan, Kapouga; J. Niven, Hawera.

D.H.S. appointments: Mr Johnston, to Bulls ; Miss Voysey, to Taihape.

It was decided to send on Miss Slattery’s name to the Foxton School Committee.

Mr Wilson, pupil teacher, was transferred from Foxton to Hawtra.

It was resolved to insure caretakers, also school - cleaners throughout the district, the committees to pay in proportion to amounts paid.

Resolved to inform the Foxton committee that protection from bird nuisance should be effected by the committee, and not by the Board ; also that the Board could not at present inslal gas in headteacher’s residence.

. Moutoa —An application for bath was granted. Notice of motion was given by Mr Cargill that in future the Board will meet on third Monday in each mouth.

The Chairman stated that the Government were not making any grants as they wanted, all the money for Dreadnoughts ! Accounts were passed for payment, and the Board rose till Wed nesday, sth May.
