1 LEVIN WOOL, SKINS AND HIDES SALE. Swainson and Sevan Ltd., report as follows on their sale held at Levin yesterday. There was an average attendance of buyers present and keen competition for good conditioned sheepskins. We disposed of one line of 131 half wools at 3s 5d each, and 70 at 3s 2d each. Hides declined from to a id per lb in sympathy with the falling market iu Australia. We passed in our best lines at auction. The tojal offerings of the combined sales comprised 1060 sheepskins, 350 hides and calf skins, 25 bales and fadges wool, 4 casks tallow and sundries out of which we offered 673 sheepskins, 194 hides, j 7 lots wool, 3 casks tallow and sundries. We were successful in disposing after the sale 70 cow hides at 3d per lb to a Dunedin buyer. Wool—Medium crossbred 6M to 6%d, dingy and stained fleece sd, to 5 3 4 d, locks and pieces id to ’2%d, Sheepskins—Fine crossbred 63d, medium s#d, lambs to hoggets sd, pelts bare 2%d to 33d, dead and broken toqd, lambs pelts is to is 2d, salted half wools 3s id, 3s 2d, to 3s sd, salted lambs 3 s i d - Hides—Qx medium light 4%d, cow medium 3d, light 4<i to 4j|d, yearlings 3d, calf sound to cut and slippy ad to 4d. Tallow—Casks ,£22 15s, tins 18s.
