SYNOPSIS OF ADVERTISEMENTS.
Messrs P. W, Brown and Newth Bros., notify that on and after April Ist next, the price of milk will be qd per quart. Messrs Ross and Co., of the Bon Marche, announce their first showing of autumn and winter millinery, which is undoubtedly one of the most exquisitely fascinating displays ever accomplished by this progressive firm.* Mrs Hamer, of the Economic, has just landed a large consignment of magnificent autumn and winter goods, comprising dress materials, millinery, etc. The quality is unsurpassed, and the prices are exceptionally low, as Mrs Hamer desires to keep down her stock, in view of quitting the business. Call early and see the wonderful display at the Economic before purchasing elsewhere.*
It’s an old saying and a very true one “that it’s an ill wind that blows no one any good.” In this instance the public will be the gainers by the recent fire at Collinsou and Cuuninghame’s Mercery and Clothing Establishment. The firm is holding an absolute clearance of the whole stock which is more or less damaged by fire, water or smoke, the whole of it wet or -damp which means that the stock must be cleared quickly, that it will is a foregone conclusion, as Messrs Collinson and Cunuinghame make no two bites at a cherry and have marked the goods at prices that are simple irresistible. A trip to Palmerston under these circumstances would be a highly profitable one.*
