A FARMER ARRESTED

Napiur, March 15

Last week Tudor Baker, sheep farmer and commission agent, filed a petition in bankrupty. His statements showed liabilities totalling ,£11,191, and assets of ,£3357. Arising out of the examination of bankrupt at the meeting of his creditors, the Official Assignee has issued a warrant for his arrest on a charge of failing to keep proper books of account. Accused was arrested on Saturday, and brought before the Magistrate to-day, being remanded for seven days on bail of ,£2OO. At the meeting of his creditors Baker admitted that he had not kept any books, and did not know how to keep them.
