CONCERT AT GLEN OROUA.
A concert party, consisting principally of Foxton performers, provided an entertainment in Glen Oroua Hall last night, under the auspices of the Presbyterian Church. The audience was a large and appreciative one. The Hall stage was nicely decorated. The contributors to the programme were: Glee party (Mrs Wrigley, Misses Jenks, Signall, Barber, Messrs T. Betty, Wrigley, Smith and Rimmer), which rendered, “See our Oars,” ‘‘Laughing is Contagious,” “ The Happy Peasants”; Mr Fowler, ‘‘The Deathless Army,” and ‘‘The Mighty Deep ” ; Miss Lewis, who got a great reception, ‘‘Alone on the Ralt,” and “ Fiddle and I ” ; Mr Hornblow, humourous items ; Mr Lyall (Oroua Bridge) ‘‘The Drum Major” and ‘‘The Deep Cold Sea”; Miss Signal “The Miller and the Maid”; Mr Wrigley, “Nellie Bawn ” ; Mr Smith, “ Three for Jack ” ; Miss Barber, “ Love Lane” ; Mr Rankin, “Long Live the King”; Miss Jenks and Mr Hornblow, “ Friendship” ; Miss Waldmanu, recitation, “ Auction Extraordinary” ; Mr Marlin, “ Big Ben ” ; Mr aud Mrs Wrigley, duet; Mr A. Rimmer, a song. The accompaniments were played by Mrs Lvall, Misses Sanson, Jenks and Furrie, and Mr Penny. On the motion of Mr Sanson, the performers were accorded a hearty vote of thanks. During the interval, Mr Sanson plied a brisk trade in ice cream. At the conclusion of the programme, the visitors and performers were most hospitably entertained by the Glen Oro unites.
