LEVIN WOOL, SKIN AND HIDES SALK.

Messrs Swainson and Bevan, Limited, report as follows: —There was a good attendance of buyers present at the Levin sales yesterday, and animated competition for all good lines ot hides and sheepskins, prices being firm at late quotations. The total offering at the sales comprised, 8 bales and 60 sacks of wool, 1200 sheepskins, 243 hides, 145 calf skins, 8 casks and 12 tins of tallow, etc., of which quantity we offered 8 bales and 35 sacks of wool, 703 sheepskins, 146 hides, 48 calf skins, and 6 casks of tallow. We again topped the maket in ox hides, sheepskins, and lamb skins, one line ot 156 salted making 2s rod, 25 ditto 2s nd, lamb skins 6d per lb, quarter wools 5%d per lb, our top price in medium ox being one heavy ox netting 375, and one extra heavy cow 27s 1 id. We quote as follows. — Wool: Crossbred fleece to 6}(d, stained and dingy to 524 d, lambs 6d, dead locks and pieces to Sheepskins : Crossbred full wools $Hd, quarter wools s }{d, shorts \%d to hoggets s>£d, lambs to 6d, pelts interior 2d to dead and broken to salted 2s lod to 2s 1 id, salted lambs 2s icd, extra heavy green 3s 2d. Hides; Ox heavy 6d, medium light cow heavy medium 3d, to 5%d, light to Calf; Prime cut Yearlings: s^d. Tallow: Casks 10s to ,£23 per ton.
