MOUTOA DRAINAGE BOARD.
The monthly meeting of the Moutoa Drainage Board was held in the Board’s office last night. Present: Messrs B. G. Gower (chairman), Hammond, Symons, and Easton.
An apology for absence was received from Mr W. E. Barber. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. The engineer’s report was received and dealt with in committee.
The Clerk reported that since last meeting the second instalment of ,£SOO cn account of loan had been received, and placed to the credit of the loan account. Wages amounting to £47 19s 8d had been paid since the last meeting of the Board. The amount standing to the credit of the general account was £32 10s Bd, and the loan account £567 12s 3d. Rates received since last meeting amounted to ,£49 6s qd, being ,£32 2s 3d general rates and £l7 4s id special rates. The amount still outstanding was ,£2l 17s 4d, made up of ,£l4 16s gd general, and £7 os jd special rate. It was decided on the motion of Mr Gower, seconded by Mr Hammond, That the necessary ironwork as reported to be required by the engineer be purchased from Mr R. H. Barber at 3j4d per lb. Accounts amounting ,£423 7s gd were passed for payment. It was decided that application be made to the Treasury lor a further instalment of ,£SOO on account of loan to be placed to the Board’s credit by April 3rd. The Board rose at 9.15 p. m.
