COASTAL WRECK.

ALL HANDS SAVED. Auckland, March 1. A telegram from Farengarenga, to the north of Auckland, states that the ship Forest Hall was wrecked on Saturday morning on the west coast, about twenty miles south-east of Cape Maria Van Diemen, near Te Aarai Bluff. The spot where the ship came ashore is a somewhat lonely part of the coast. Residents of Parengarenga on the East Coast do not seem to have been aware of the wreck until late in the day. The ship was on her way to Chilian ports from Newcastle, loaded with about 3000 tons of coal. She had been twenty-one days out from the poit of departure, and apparently, had been blown out of her course considerably, as she should have passed to the north of the Three Kings at about 9.30 a.m. The vessel went ashore, and all on board were able to reach the beach in safety ; but it is teared that the heavy seas which come in on that coast will break the ship up before any refloating operations can be attempted. The Forest Hall is an iron, fullrigged ship, of 2052 tons register, in command of Captain P. A. Logan. Messrs Dun and Co,, of Liverpool, are the owners. Captain Collins and the first mate of the Forest Hall arrived at Parengarenga on Sunday in a very exhausted condition, The captain returned to the vessel, a twelve miles’ journey.
