TELEPHONE COMMUNICATION.
At the last meeting of the Foxton Chamber of Commerce it . was. decided to ask the Telegraph Department to establish local telephone communication iwith Wellington . via,- yShaSnupUi of having to put .upyrith the inconvenience and delay in communicating via Longburn. A reply has been received from the Superintendent of Electric Lines, in which he states that it is not practicable at present to establish telephone communication between Wellington and Foxtou via Shannon, as there is no wire available ; but when the circuit now being erected between Wellington and Levin is, completed, it may; be possible to communicate via Shannon and Eevinj
