LIBRARY SNEAK THIEF.
Some time ago we referred in these columns to the contemptible practice of certain person or persons who were in the habit of thieving magazines and clipping from papers at the local reading room. We are informed by the Town Clerk that this criminal offence is continued by some miserable skinflint or kleptomaniac. It is unfortunate that honest people who visit the reading-room and enjoy the literature provided gratis, should be made to suffer by reason of the immoial propensities of some ungrateful habitue. If this practice continues it will simply mean that the local authority will have to cease supplying the reading room with magazine literature. This step would be sincerely regretted by honest patrons. A watch has been set in order to catch the culprit, and we hope that the public will assist the librarian in bringing offenders to book.
