FOXTON THEFT CASE.
At the Wellington Magistrate’s Court yesterday, a young man named Charles George Breen was charged on remand (i) that on or about December 28th, at Foxtou, de did steal a bicycle valued at the propery of Neil Neilson, and (2) that on December 24th, at Foxton, he did steal a suit of clothes, valued at £5, the property of Ernest Harper. Accused pleaded guilty to both charges. Chief Detective M’Grath said accused had been employed as a porter at a hotel in Foxton, and some time after he left the above goods were missed. Accused;solely the bicycle for £4. 10s, and the suit for £1 both to a dealer in Wellington. Nothing was known against accused before the present charges. His Worship said he was prepared to give accused another chance. He would be convicted and ordered to come tip for sentence when called, on on both charges, otreondition that the 10s, received for the bicycle and the suit was refunded within a month. 1
