Wellington Wool Sales.

Dalgety and Compauy, Ltd., report: —We held our third wool sale of the season on Friday, when we offered a catalogue of 7702 bales out of a total catalogue of 21.000 bales, as compared with 38.000 bales for the corresponding sale of last year. About 300 bales catalogued by us were not offered on account of our inability to get delivery from the Harbour Board stores, 6938 bales were sold under the hammer, only 764 bales being “ passed,” and of these we expect to quit a large proportion privately. Competition was very keen throughout the sale and there was a much larger attendance of buyers than at any previous sale of the season. The quality of the wool offered was not as good as that offered at the December sale, and, as-is usual at this time of the year* most of the lots were heavier in grease. We topped the market with a line of halfbred wool on account of Mr P. H. Wood, Makqhau, Turakiua, and also for lambs with a nice parcel on account of Mr Campion. “Okirae,” / ordell, which realised gd. Prices were on a par with the December rates for medium and inferior crossbred, but fine wools suitable for America showed a drop of from to per lb.
