ILLICIT STILL.

Seizure at Waihi.

Waihi, January 8.

Two arrests were made here yesterday in connection with the discovery of an illicit still in the town. The arrests were made by Police Inspector Kiely, Sergeant M’Kinnon, and three constables. The police visited a washhouse at the rear of certain premises, and receiving nb reply to a knock, burst open the door, where the still was found, with William Maidens, a miner, and William Lack, a bushman. A complete plant, with 36 gallons of fermenting whisky, were seized.

At the Court this morning accused were remanded on bail.
