CHRISTMAS PURCHASES.
Local tradesmen are determined to supply the Christmas wants of residents even to the smallest particular, and at prices that defy competition. An old proverb has it that “distant fields look green.” Some people are tempted to make their Christmas purchases outside the town. Well, that’s their business, but it doesn’t help the town. Far better keep the money circulating locally. Let’s be patriotic and patronise local industry and local tradesmen. You are not asked to buy the personality of the shopkeeper—its the goods you’re after. If you consider the price of the article is not right, tell him so. He’ll explain. Anyhow, keep as much money in the town as possible. We hope our local tradespeople, and particularly those who support their local paper, will do good blxsiness and that purchasers will feel that they received the best value for their money.
