Captain Rescued
Wanganui, December 20. The Ururoa is in the same position, and, with the ,exception of the centre-board and deck gear being smashed, the vessel does not appear to be badly injured. It is thought that she may be Refloated when the sea moderates. The rescue of Captain Harris \ was a very gallant affair. A small band, headed by John M’Farlane, a wellknown local sailmaker, A made several attempts to reach the Ururoa in a ship’s boat. | They were capsized on several occasions during the afternoon, and though they got alongside the scow- twice they were driven off by the Jaeavy seas. Just after dark they made a determined effort and succeeded. Christchurch, December/19. Messrs J. A.
