THE RECENT SHOW.
The recent Horticultural Show closed on Thursday. A large number of people again inspected the exhibits and expressed surprise and pleasure at the quantity and quality of the productsjsf the local soil. Several complaints have been made to us by exhibitors on -various grounds, but perfection should; not be looked for a I the first attempt The executive/ did their best with_
out fee or reward, and are entitled to the thanks of the community. Recent mistakes and shortcomings will be turned to profitable account next time. To those who complained because their names did not appear as prize-winners in our last issue, we can only assure them that the list published was taken from the official record, which was not complete. Another exhibitor protests against the appointment of local judges, and states that it would be better to allow the exhibits to go unjudged than that local judges should adjudicate. It was difficult to secure the services of competent outsiders to judge all the classes, but we have no doubt an attempt will be made to secure outsiders next time.
