MASTERTON LOCAL OPTION POLL.
Petition for a Magisterial Recount. On Saturday a petition in the following form was sent to Mr W. P. James, S.M., at Masterton : “In the matter of the Dicensing Act, 1908, and in the matter *of the Dicensing Poll taken iu the Masterton Dicensing District on the 17th day of November, 1908. “To Wm. Pallison James, Esq., Stipendiary Magistrate, Masterton.
“We the undersigned electors resident in tbe Masterton Electoral District and qualified electors of such Electoral District, hereby apply in terms of section 29 of the Eicensing Act, 1908* for a Magisterial recount of the votes recorded at the Eocal Option Poll, taken for the Masterton Eicensing District on the 17th November, 1908, and we deposit the sum of herewith in accordance with subsection (c) of the aforesaid Act. “ Dated at Masterton this 27th day of November, 1908. Thomas James Porter, hotel" keeper, Masterton. Fredk. S. Cooper, hotelkeeper, Masterton. » James Cress, hotelkeeper, Mastertou. J, O'Meara, hotelkeeper, Masterton. John Russell, storeman, Masterton. Hugh Cameron McPhee, Masterton. John Connell, barman, Masterton. Frank D. Felling, Masterton. The Magistrate has appointed Friday next as the date on which the recount will be held. The proceedings will be held in the Court-house, and will commence at 10 o’clock in the morning.
