SCHOOL COMMITTEE.

The monthly meeting of the Foxton School Committee was held on Thursday night:—Present Messrs Hornblow (Chairman), Bullard, Reid, Hennessy, Rev. Aitken (Secretary). Formal correspondence was read and dealt with. It was decided to ask the new school cleaner to take up his duties on Monday next. If was resolved to again ask the Board to give a grant for the purchase of certain articles previously asked for. It was reported that the committee’s finances would show a deficit after accounts were passed for payment. The headmaster reported that the ■average attendance was 240 out of a roll number of 285. The technical school showed a falling off in the millinery class. Messrs Coley and Hennessy were appointed visitors for the month. Accounts were passed for payment and the meeting rose.
