A BANKER MURDERED.

Murderer Arrested.

London, November 9,

An extraordinary outrage was committed in the rooms of Julius Schlitte, a foreign bankr, of Shhaftesbury Aueuue, London. A man armed with a revolver vainly fired at Mr Schlitte, who apparently snatched the weapon and threw it into a corner.

The assailant, with a knife, then badly wounded Schlitte in the abdomen ane shoulders, despite Schlitte’s efforts to attract notice by hurling weights through the window and shouting “Police!” and “ Murder!”

Brandishing a knife, the assailant then rushed into the street, stsbbing a carter and a policeman who tried to stop him. The wounded policeman hung on to the man, and finally arrested him. He proved to be an engineer named Macdonald. SchUlte was removed to an hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
