HARBOUR BOARD BILL.

A meeting of the Council of the Chamber of Commerce was held in the Secretary’s office yesterday afternoon, for the purpose of deciding what action should be taken in reference to the Harbour Board Bill now that the clause relating to wharfages had been deleted by the Local Bills Committee of the House. There were present Messrs Hennessy (chairman), M. H. Walker, R. Moore, F. E. Jenks, G. Phillips, M. Perreau, Alex. Ross. G. H. Stiles, and the Secretary (P. H. Rae-Howard). A lengthy discussion ensued and it was decided to adjourn the meeting until a further communication was received from Mr Stevens.
