AN EVENING'S RECITAL.
Masonic Hall—Monday Evening.
The Foxtoa public are promised something entirely new in the entertainment line on Monday evening, in the Masonic Hall, when an evening’s recital will be tendered. The Rev. C. A. Simms’, of the Newtown Primitive Methodist Church, and Mr G. Hicks, editor of the Free Ranee, a well-known elocutionist, will provide a number of recitations, which should prove instructive, and entertaining. The pieces to be recited include : “ A Story of Waterloo Bridge,” and “The Battle of Camperdown.” Mr Hicks has a big reputation in the Empire City. Miss Embury, of Wellington, and Miss Barley, of Palmerston, will pay their first visit to Foxton, and will sing during the evening. Accompanist, Mr H. Signal, Tickets only is. Proceeds in aid of the Methodist Church.
