The Last Letter.

London, Sept. 20,
Colonel Warde, at the inquest, bitterly declared that MajorGeneral Luard’s letter, previously cabled, was a fabrication of the press. The actual letter did not mention his son. It ended: “I thought I had strength enough to bear up against the horrible imputations of these terrible letters. I am now satisfied that it is best to join her in the second life at once.”
