THE AMERICAN FLEET.
Albany, September 17. The United States Fleet has sailed for Manila.
Admiral Sperry, in a farewell to Australia, said he decided to mingle with his unqualified thanks to the people of Australia a confirmed admiration to their island continent, and a hope that it would be permitted to continue in peace its beneficent work of development. “ When that is completed,” the Admiral adds, “ who shall compute the national importance of Australia —the Empire’s Queen Daughter of the Southern Seas 1 ”
