B: Hayden; Fitzherbert East, McKenzie ; Mangawhio, F. Perry; Halcombe, Jd Robson. Resignations.—H. Hill, Auroa ; Miss M. Ontfort, Sanson; F. E. Clapham, Aralika ; J. M. Trimlen, Relieving Teacher. Leave of absence. —C. Yort, Huntcrville ; H. M. Yort, College Street; A. McDaraugh, Campbell Street; A. L. Symen, Apiti; B. Anderson, Utiku; C. Hanron, Tckorangi; H. Seater, Kairanga ; A. 0. Resolevd that Domiuiou Day medals be forwarded to teachers for distribution. _ Grants from the Education Department were received as follows : —Wanganui, residence and washhouse ; Utiku, residence. Resolved to apply to the Department for a grant for additions to Linton School. An offer was received from Mr W. E. Barnard to conduct a class ~ of commercial law at the Foxton technical school. • Lett in Mr Fraser’s hands with power to act. A motion by Mr Dixon, that the Minister for Education be asked to bring in legislation acquiring young people up to the are of 17 or xS, residing within a reasonable distance of a technical school, fty,attend upon one or two evenings' . per week at such continuation o#:'' technical classes as may be provided for them and that other Boards in the Dominion he asked to co-operate, was referred to the Chief Inspector. Resolved tojask. the Government for a gram for the erection of a high school at Taihape. Bank balance at credit ,£61493 3d; accounts amounting to ,£2093 15 s id were passed for payment. Resolved that the Board meet again on Wednesday, 7th Oct.
