DOMINION DAY.

Invurcargiu., September 15. A meeting to-day of representative citizens tried iir vain to make some satisfactory arrangements for the celebration of Dominion Day on the 26th in accordance with the express wish of the Prime Minister. Saturday is the most awkward day in the week for Invercargill and it is not proclaimed a public holiday. It was therefore decided to ask the Prime Minister either to p'rcclaim Saturday a holiday or have the celebration on Friday.
