Christchurch, September 3. Hazel Savage, fifteen months old, was accidentally drowned today at Halswell through falling into a creek. The child wandered away from home, and was found in the creek a few minutes later by her mother. Taihape, September 2. At the inquest on Frederick Grantham, who was found dead on the Raugiwahia Block with a discharged shot gun lying alongside, a verdict was returned of suicide while temporarily insane. A letler left by deceased stated that he was liable to five years’ imprisonment for saying things about people, the names of whom are not mentioned, and the only way out was to commit suicide.
