NEW ZEALAND EXPORTS.

Exports from the Dominion during the mouth of June showed a substantial decrease in some of the principal lines as compared with the corresponding month of the previous year. Last mouth still more products compared unfavourably with the shipments in the relative mouth of 1907. The values of the exports in which there was a falling off last mouth, followed for comparative purposes in each case by the value of that description of produce consigned in July, 1907, are as follows Cheese, £ 3,577, £3,702 frozen beef, £42,95 1 , ,£55.571 ; frozen mutton, £94.5 i8 > £ t 47,934 ! frozen lamb, £154,810, £167,614; wheat, £3O, £43: hemp, ,£21,646, £47,536 ; poultry, nil, £6 ; rabbits, £4,523, £6,691 ; tow, £1,647, £6,119; kauri gum, £16,926, ,£63,426; grain other than wheat and oats, ,£4,637, £8,443; hops, £652, £1,489; hides, £11,364, £19,339; skins of all kinds, £39,312, £72,101 ; tallow, £34,383; £46,013; timber, £21,915, £25,147; gold, £167,553, £212,809. The only exports showing an increase were : —Butter, £39,319, as against £25.375 : oats, £13,6x3, against £299 ; potatoes, £94, as compared with £B2 ; and wool, £228,285, as above £207,882. For the quarter ended June 30th last the falling off on the corresponding quarter of the previous year noticeable in most items largely overbalanced the total of increases in the few remaining exports.
