HOTEL BURNT.

inmates Have Narrow Escape. Feilding, August 19. The Cheltenham Hotel, owned by Mr E. J. Riddiford and leased by Mr S. W. R. Evans, was totally destroyed by fire at 2.30 this morning. The only occupants were Mr Evans and his wife and child and one boarder. They had . a narrow escape, only getting out with their night clothes on. The origin of the fire is unknown. The adjoining buildings/ including the general store and post office, were saved with difficulty. The building was a large twostorey one, and it was burnt to thev ground in 15 minutes.
