FOOTBALL.

The Anglo-Welsh footballers defeated Metropolitan at Sydney on Saturday by 16 points to 13. Auckland defeated Wellington at Auckland on Saturday by 24 points to 3. Hawke’s Bay defeated Horowhenua at Napier on Saturday by 35 points to nil. At Feilding on Saturday Mauawatu defeated Wanganui by 9 to nil.

The inter - collegiate matches, Wanganui v. Te Aute, were played at Palmerston on Saturday. The Te Aute seniors came off victorious by 21 to 3, and the juniors’ match ended in a draw, each side scoring 3 points. St. Pat’s College defeated Wellington College on Saturday by 9 to 6.

The following team will represent the Foxton Junior reps in their match against Horowhenua, to be played on the local racecourse on Saturday next: — W. Spelraan L. Alzdorf R. Hickson J. Walker J.
