FOXTON ATHLETIC CLUB.
A meeting of the committee of the Foxton Athletic Club was held in Mr Petreau’s rooms on Thursday evening. Present: — Messrs B. G. Gower (chairman), Gordon, Perreau, Rough, Gillies, Robinson, Page, Cook and secretary. The minutes of the previous meeting was read and confirmed. Correspondence was read from the secretary of the Feilding centre of the N. Z. Athletic Union notifying the club that a permit had been granted to hold sports under their rules on Monday. 9th Nov., also from Mr R. H. Bright (Palmerston N.) accepting the position of time-keeper at the forthcoming meeting and offering a gold medal for competition. Mr Ulic Shannon, was reappointed handicapper.
The secretary was instructed to write to the District Traffic Manager and ascertain what terms the Department would run a special train from Feilding on sports day. Messrs Robinson, Page, Rough and Whibley were appointed to draw up a programme and submit same to next meeting of the committee.
The N.Z. Athletic Union’s account for affiliation was passed for payment. Votes of thanks to the .Chair-, man and to Mr Perreau for the use of the room concluded the meeting-
