FOXTON SPORTS AND ATHLETIC CLUB.
Annual Meeting. The annual meeting of the above was held in Mr M. Perreau’s rooms last night. There was a lair attendance oi members present. Mr M. Perreau occupied the chair. The minutes of the last annual meeting were read and confirmed. The report and balance-sheet was submitted by the Secretary. The latter showed a loss of ,£2B 7s 2d on the last meeting, which it was explained was caused by the gathering being postponed. The gate takings, however, disclosed a marked increase over previous years’ receipts, members’ and public subscriptions, nominations and acceptances showed a marked falling off. The special train from Feildiug resulted in a loss of 6s id. There are no outstanding liabilities and £9 5s 3d stands to the Club’s credit for the coming year.
The report and balance-sheet as read were adopted.—On the motion of Mr Page the incoming committee was recommended to grant a bonus to the Secretary. Gordon, R. Hines, jF. Woods, J. Jillet, M. E. Perreau, W. Cook, R. Watson, R. Baker and J. W. Rough; markers, committee; judges Dr. Adams, J. K. Hornblow, G. Phillips, W. Barber, B. G. Gower, M. Walker, P. J. Heunessy, R. Baillie, Charles dollins; auditors, Messrs W. Adams and Morgan; starter, Mr E. E. Smith, E. W. Wilson assistant starter; timekeepers, R. H. Bright and Carter; handicapper, to be elected by committee. Proposed by Mr Whibley, seconded by Mr Woods that the annual meeting be held on November 9th. Votes of thanks were accorded to the outgoing officers and particularly to Mr F. Martin for services rendered. Other matters were discussed and the meeting rose after accordidg a vote of thanks to the Chairman and Mr Spiers for serices rendered.
