PROPOSED FOXTON POST OFFICE.

We were shown this morning the plans and specifications of the Post Office to be erected on the corner site opposite the present building. It is an imposing two-storeyed edifice in brick. The ground floor contains roomy and well-appointed offices for the public and staff, the upstairs portion is set apart as residential quarters for the postmaster. At a later date we will publish details of the building. We can assure our readers, however, that they will have no reason to complain about their post office in the future. When erected it will be an ornament to the town. We have waited a long time but the delay is justified by the Department’s intention to erect such a handsome and imposing building. Tenders will be called immediately for the work which is to be completed within eight months from the 3rd September.
