HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.

Show to be bold in December. A meeting of the local Horticultural Society was held in the Secretary’s office on Tuesday evening last. The Rev. Mr Aitken occupied the chair, and there was a fair attendance present. A lengthy discussion ensued as to fixing the date of the Show- It was finally resolved to fix the date for Wednesday and Thursday, December 2nd and 3rd. It was decided to alter dates on catalogues. A sub committee was appointed, consisting of Messrs Thomas Nye, Woods, and Rae-Howard to arrange re certificates. Mr Bullard gave notice to move at the next meeting that the financial year close 01131st December, instead of nth September, as at present, thus entitling those who have paid their subscriptions to participate in the privileges of the forthcoming show. It was decided to hold the next meeting on the 25th August.
