BOROUGH COUNCIL.
A meeting of the Works Com* mittee was held in the Council Chambers on Tuesday evening, when a fair amount of work was disposed of- Amongst other matters, it was decided that the clerk order drain pipes to carry* surface water off the Avenue in front of Mr E. Curamerfield’s, residence as soon as the foreman supplied the number required. It was also decided to purchase a ioo-gallon tank for the pound keeper’s use. The Mayor and Town Clerk were appointed to the pound at an early date, with a view of deciding the position of new yard, and also to examine condition of fences generally.
