London Markets.

Messrs Dalgely and Co., Ltd., Wellington, have received the following cable message from their London House, under date of the 16th iust.: Butter.—The Copenhagen official quotations, 3 kroners (about 3s per cwt higher. The total imports of butter into the United Kingdom for week ending the nth inst., amounted to 95.000 cwt, as compared with 83.000 cwt for the corresponding week of 1907, showing an increase of 12,000 cwt; market steady, and there is no change in respect of demand for unsalted. Prices for Colonial butter are unchanged. Frozen Meat.—The market has a declining tendency. The market for frozen mutton and lamb is quiet, and any change in prices is in favour of buyers. It is very difficult to effect sales of frozen beef at lower prices, viz., }6d to tfd per lb. Tallow. —Since our last advices prices are higher as follows: Good to prime mixed tallow, 6d per cwt; good to prime beef tallow, 6d to is ; other descriptions at par to 3d per cwt. Rabbitskius. —Since our last advices prices are higher by 1 per lb. Hides. —Prices are firm. Leather.—Higher by }{d per lb lower. HIDE AND SKIN REPORT.

Dalgety and Company, Limited, report having held their usual fortnightly sale of wool, skins, hides and tallow this afternoon. Competition was' - fairly animated and the more cheerful tone prevailing in the wool market at Home was reflected in to-day's bidding. A fair quantity of crutch ings was offered and prices showed an advance on last sales. All classes of skins were sold at prices in favour of sellers. We quote as follows. —Wool: —Sliped fine crossbred lambs, B%d; sliped medium lambs, 6d to 7%d ; crossbred, q>zd; crutchings, light in condition, 3-%d to qd ; heavy, pieces, i-%d toad. Sheepskins: —Crossbred, qM crossbred shorts, to inferior and damaged, i*d to lambs, 3d to qd; damp, sound pelted, 3s to 3s 8d each ; inferior pelted, and short in wool, is nd to as xod each ; butchers green, 3s 6d each ; salted skins, crossbred short, fine wools, as. Sd to 3s ; full woolled, as to 3s 6d ; lambs, salted, is 2d to 2s 6d. Hides : No prime heavy offering. Ox, medium, sfsd to s?sd per lb; light, to 5-7« d. Cows, medium, to q-Mfd ; light, 3 2d to 3%d per lb. Yearlings, 3; steers to qL>d. Horse, ns6d.; calf s'-/sd to s>3d; inferior, 2M. Tallow : —ln casks (inferior), 20s 6d per cwt. In tins, 2is qd per cwt. Fat 12s per cwt.
