Hokitika, July 20. Mr H. L. Michel, Mayor of Hokitika, and chairman of the various local bodies, who contested the Westland seat at the by election two years ago, will again be a candidate for the seat in opposition to the sitting member, Mr T. E. Y. Seddon, at next general election. Waihi, July 20.

Mr J Foster, who contested the Bay ot Plenty seat at last election, is the candidate for Ohinemuii. The other candidates are Messrs Poland and Way (Socialist). Waipawa, July 20.

A deputation of about 209 members of the Liberal party headed by Mr John Harker, who formerly contested the seat, waited 011 Mr A. E. Jull, President of the Counties’ Association, and asked him to contest the Hawke’s Bay seat. They pledged themselves to support him. Mr Jull has cousented.
