SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
The monthly meeting of the above was held in the schoolhouse on Thursday night. Present; Messrs Horn blow (Chairman), Hennessy, Henderson, Bullard, G. C\ ley, Read, Perreau, and Rev. G. Aitken (Secretary). The headmaster’s report was read and adopted. The visitors for the mouth (Messrs Bullard and Coley) reported that eve: ything was in a satisfactory condition. Report adopted. The matter of limew'ashiug the outhouses was left in the hands of the visitors for this month, —It was resolved to approach the Board for a refund of account for repairs to down pipes, and also asking for a grant for fire - extinguishing purposes.—A vote of thanks was accorded to Mr Nye for his gift of lime.—A circular was read from the Board in reference to Arbor Day celebrations. Mr Hennessy suggested that the children be taken to the beach, in order to plant Marram grass. Mr Coley suggested that the children should be given a half-holiday. It was finally decided not to observe the day.—ln reference to technical school matters, very few applications were received from intending pupils, in fact, not sufficient to justify one class being formed.—lt was decided to advertise the date when applications for instruction in the various classes would close. —Accounts were passed for payment, and the meeting rose.
