THE AMERICAN FLEET.

New York, July 8. Sixteen American _ battleships, commanded by Admiral Sperry, left San Francisco on Tuesday afternoon for New Zealand. The battleship Nehraski does not accompany the Fleet, owing to haying scarlet fever aboard, but will join at Honolulu, when out of quarantine. The auxiliaries preceded the battleship by a week, and after loading supplies at Honolulu, will sail for N.Z. iu advance of the fleet. Tokio, July 8. A remarkable welcome to the American fleet is being planned at Yokohama. Twenty - four ar--moured ships and many smaller craft will participate.
