THE FOXTON POST OFFICE.
Mr Stevens Probes the Matter. Ministerial Reply. By Telegraph—Special to Herald Wellington, Bast Night. Mr Stevens, M.P., asked the Minister of Public Works when it is intended to give effect to the repeated promises made during the last three years to erect a suitable Post Office at Foxton, in lieu of the structure which ten years ago, was aptly described as the “ old Maori Church.” The Minister replied that the erection of this building conld not be proceeded with immediately after the passing of the vote, owing to the difficulty with regard to the site. The arrangement of_ this matter is, however, now practically complete, and plans, etc., are in course of preparation. It is hoped that tenders will be invited during the current month for the erection of the building.
