BAKERS’ STRIKE.

Wellington, June 30, There is little to report in relerence to the strike of bakers, as the position is unchanged. A few bakers are turning out a little bread, and householders are doing as best they can under the circumstances. It is estimated that about 7000 loaves were distributed today, whereas the usually daily output is about 35,000 loaves.

The Timber Workers’ Union passed a resolution of sympathy with the strikers to-night. The Drivers’ Union met this evening and decided not to call out the members ot the Union who drive bakers’ carts, but to have them free to leave work on a week’s notice, if they have good reason to believe that black-leg labour is being employed in bake houses.

The master bakers and the strikers remain firm, neither side showing the least indication to yield.
